Equipping every student and teacher with a laptop brings tremendous opportunities to transform teaching and learning in today’s classrooms. From revitalizing teachers to engaging tech-savvy students to improving school performance, the benefits of one-to-one learning are significant. Time To Know, developer of the first complete interactive curriculum system designed specifically for one-to-one computing classrooms, today announced that it is partnering with the One-to-One Institute (OTO), the international not-for-profit leader and advocate for one-to-one computing, to help school districts reform and renew schools through successful one-to-one teaching and learning programs.

Time To Know joins OTO as a Silver Level Contributor. As such, Time To Know will co-sponsor events and webinars with OTO to share its experience in helping educators improve the quality of teaching and learning, while realizing the vision of one-to-one computing. This December, Time To Know will be one of the sponsor’s of the 2010 Great Lakes 1:1 Computing Conference in Milwaukee, Wis. In addition, Time To Know and OTO plan to hold educational summits in Texas and New York, where schools are currently implementing the Time To Know digital teaching platform in one-to-one computing classrooms.

“One-to-one computing, when combined with high-quality professional development and a fully integrated digital curriculum, enables a powerful instruction delivery model that can measurably impact student learning,” said Joshua Behar, senior vice president and acting general manager for Time To Know. “We are excited to work with the One-to-One Institute and illustrate how one-to-one teaching and learning programs, like the Time To Know digital teaching platform, are helping districts and schools to empower teachers, and improve students’ 21st century skills and achievement levels.”

As part of the partnership, the One-to-One Institute will also share its experience working with schools, districts and states on developing, designing and implementing one-to-one initiatives. Leslie Wilson, president of the One-to-One Institute, will join the Time To Know Educational Advisory Board, which consists of leading K-12 education and technology experts across the United States. The Educational Advisory Board provides strategic guidance to Time To Know, helping the company address critical issues facing K-12 educators, identify and respond to developing trends, and evaluate future strategic directions.

“With its interactive core content and tools for planning, classroom management and assessment, Time To Know’s digital teaching platform takes one-to-one learning to a new level. It completely supports our mission of transforming education through engaging student centered one-to-one programs,” said Michael Gielniak, Ph.D., director of programs and development at the One-to-One Institute. “We look forward to working with Time To Know as they expand their offering, and to help inform schools of its potential to maximize their investment in one-to-one models.”
